Officers responded to a call at 815 University St. An employee of Place Properties advised that a student had informed her that she came home from class on Aug. 20 and discovered a man standing in her apartment. The man claimed to be with maintenance and left after talking with the student. Police spoke with Place Properties and they advised that no one should have been inside the apartment. Police told Place Properties to call them if they see anyone suspicious hanging around the apartments.
It's better to be safe than sorry. Always carry Pepper spray or stun guns for good non-lethal protection. This incident could have easily turned into a tragedy. Thank goodness it didn't. This student was lucky.
